    Description



    Learn VSP’s business to execute HR initiatives across VSP’s Lines of Business (LOBs).



    Forge working relationships among the leadership teams across the LOBs within a matrixed functional operation to ensure that leadership practices, and employee relations policies and programs are in line with VSP’s mission and values.



    Lead or participate in strategic enterprise-wide HR initiatives or project teams.



    Cultivate leadership and VSP values in self and others through modeling and coaching of HR employees and VSP’s leadership team.



    Communicate and ensure understanding of assigned employee group of company policies and procedures, laws, regulations and answer questions by managers and employees as needed.



    Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.



    Implement and execute employee relations programs/practices that create a positive organizational culture and enable management effectiveness.



    Engage and facilitate corporate and ad hoc training programs throughout the LOBs.



    Ensure performance management programs and procedures including, but not limited to, performance appraisals and performance improvement plans are adhered to.



    Conduct needs analyses to identify and establish priorities regarding employee relations and human resource development activities.



    Qualifications



    The ideal candidate will typically have the following:




    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business or equivalent experience
    • Eight to ten years’ high-level Human Resource management experience in several functional areas, preferably in a corporate, shared services model supporting an international workforce
    • Ability to partner and collaborate with executives from different LOBs with different work styles, business goals and beliefs
    • Demonstrated political savvy with the ability to influence and establish effective relationships with opposing company cultures while closing the gap between those cultures
    • Comprehensive Training and Development background
    • Comprehensive knowledge of policy development
    • Comprehensive knowledge of design of compensation and benefit plans
    • Knowledge of international employment law with demonstrated ability to resolve complex employee relations issues
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time domestic and international
