Doctor Service Representative – California Lab - Doctor Services – DL

    Description



    Specified Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm



    Respond to telephone inquiries from member doctors and other business partners regarding Rxs, products and lab process information. Responding to inquiries will require in-depth knowledge in the following areas: Cause of Rx delays, product information, patient and plan options.



    Call doctors regarding Rxs that are unclear, missing information or materials are unavailable to ensure effective, timely communications.



    Using appropriate judgment, may adjust invoices to reflect special circumstances (special delivery, second pair of glasses) up to $200, to respond to problem resolution.



    Utilize product and procedure manual to effectively manage all telephone inquiries.



    Remain current on all changes to department policy, procedure and product information to accurately and consistently respond to inquiries.



    Participate in monthly rotation performing research and adjustment responsibilities, researching and updating changes to Rxs.



    Qualifications




    • Two years' general office experience, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
    • Previous experience in an optical-related environment (i.e. doctor’s office, laboratory).
    • Knowledge of lens materials.
    • Ability to obtain data using a mainframe terminal.
    • Ability to meet department performance standards.
    • Effective verbal communication skills to include the ability to comprehend and respond accurately to inquiries.
    • Ability to articulate clearly over the telephone.
    • Ability to answer the telephone 90% of the workday.
